The explosive growth of online sports betting has created many victims. In 2023, we filed a class action against DraftKings for deceptive marketing of its sportsbook in Massachusetts.
Online casinos are a growing problem and pose an acute risk to many users and their families. Some of their promotions utilize absurd fine print to dupe customers into signing up and requiring them to play in ways that are unhealthy. Recently, we filed a lawsuit against Caesars online casino in Pennsylvania.
Sometimes regulators need to be reminded of their duties under the law. In 2024, we sued the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to require it to comply with Massachusetts law and collect casino data to share with researchers. This is another way we seek to use the legal system to improve gambling product safety.
